MPI Gulf States is thrilled to have Jessie States, CMM, join us for a program on meeting design trends and automation and non-market trends and how they are shaping the future.

Learning Outcomes:  

   Understand why engagement is key to the future of meetings, and how you can increase engagement at your events.
   Review how technology can help facilitate this engagement and help participants find answers to their unique challenges.
   Consider the ways automation will change the profession of meetings, and how to articulate your value beyond taker-of-orders.

Jessie States, CMM
Manager of Professional Development at Meeting Professionals International

Jessie States, CMM, is the manager of professional development for Meeting Professionals International, where she delivers education in support of MPI's global live event portfolio. She designs interactive sessions and experiences at MPI's live events, showcasing unique learning formats and personalized education, and she facilitates and designs sessions that help people engage. 

Jessie also works with MPI partners and sponsors to create industry-leading case studies and educational courses, sharing best practices from companies across the globe. She works with the professional development team to create certificate programs for meeting professionals, specifically in the areas of determining business value, designing engaging experiences and creating a sense of place at meetings and events.

Jessie has been a part of the meeting and event community since 2006, when she joined MPI as a storyteller for The Meeting Professional magazine. She has written hundreds of articles and blogs on meetings and events; penned six editions of the International Association of Venue Managers' Business Barometer; and served as primary editor for MPI's research initiatives on strategic meetings management, meeting design, corporate social responsibly, business value of meetings and virtual and hybrid events.

Jessie earned her bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of North Texas in 2001, and she has won several honors for her writing from the Texas Press Association, the Society of business Publication Editors and APEX.
